GERMANY: Gamesa has won a contract from developer Energiekontor to repower the 11MW Debstedt wind project near Bremerhaven, northern Germany.
The site currently comprises 11 Bonus 1MW turbines, according to Windpower Intelligence, the research and data division of Windpower Monthly.
The Debstedt project has been in operation since 1998.
Gamesa will supply three G128-4.5MW turbines to replace eight of the Bonus turbines, boosting the project's nameplate capacity from 11MW to 16.5MW. Annual output from the site will be doubled, according to Gamesa.
This is the first time Gamesa has won an order for the G128-4.5MW turbine in Germany.
Delivery is expected in August and the work should be completed by the end of the year.
